Dental Ceramics are valued for their biocompatibility and ability to recreate truly aesthetically pleasing and durable restorations. Today dental ceramics are the dominant material of use for indirect restorations such as inlays, onlays, crowns, bridges, veneers and implant restorations. Proper use of dental ceramics will build up the reputation of your practice. Successful use of these materials in your clinic depends on best practice application and handling from the entire dental team, at every stage of the process. Improper use in even one area or from one person in your team may compromise the outcome for your patient and the reputation of your practice.
This one-day didactic course will take you deep into the world of dental ceramics to understand how we should apply its use and how we can improve outcomes – and why. Focus will be placed on how treatment planning, case selection and an understanding of dental ceramics properties can influence your day-to-day practice. Clinical outcomes and tips will be given to explain how correct, ergonomic steps of laboratory and chair-side handling should be implemented into the workflow and help restore the integrity of the ceramic restoration. This includes situations such as grinding the ceramic to fit the patient’s occlusion, sandblasting the fitting surfaces of a crown or onlay, polishing of a ceramic restoration and furnace settings.
Bring the whole team to improve your communication between dentist, dental technicians and dental auxillaries, all of whom directly handle ceramic restorations.
