This presentation will aim to take the worry out of dental extractions by:
- Predicting difficulties: pertinent medical history and medications will be reviewed along with radiological analysis.
- Preventing problems: review of extraction technique and equipment.
- Recognising and managing complications: including fractured/displaced tooth/root fragments, infections including alveolar osteitis, oral antral communication and bleeding.
At the end of this presentation, participants should feel comfortable with identifying extractions that can be performed comfortably in their practice and understand when to refer the non-practice builders!
