2019 CONFERENCE PROGRAMME NOW!
Digital Dentistry & Dental Technology 2019 is Australia's biggest and best digital dentistry conference. Over 2 days in September, we present EIGHT CONCURRENT EDUCATION STREAMS presented by 50 speakers who will deliver 110 education sessions.
While Digital Dentistry is an all encompassing topic, dentists and specialists, technicians and prosthetists have specific interests and the programme reflects this diversity, offering myriad choice and allowing you to build your own programme in keeping with your individual needs.
As a delegate, you have freedom to choose from any of the 110 sessions that cover topics including 3D printing, intraoral scanning, laboratory scanning, milling, CBCT, software and more... with solutions presented covering restorative, orthodontics, implantology and more. There is no need to preregister for any of the sessions - except for the hands-on workshops, which each accommodate 20-30 people.
The speakers at Digital Dentistry & Dental Technology 2019 are all fully immersed in the digital world and include opinion leaders, clinicians, technicians, inventors and entrepreneurs. Delegates can benefit from the encyclopedic knowledge of the presenters, both on the podium and with unprecedented access throughout the event.
Around 70% of the programme is now available on the PROGRAMME TAB below and more information is being added daily.
As part of the hands-on workshop stream, we will be offering intraoral scanning workshops where you will be able to try all the intraoral scanners on the market in one place and at the same time. We're playing with the logistics of this at present, but hope to be able to allow you to scan patients as well as models and phantom heads.
On a final note, if you intend staying onsite at the Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach, please book your accomodation sooner rather than later. The hotel only has 100 rooms left during the event and over 350 people are attending so far.
NOTE: The program is subject to change without notice and should be considered indicative only.
Registration includes full catering - morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for two days and drinks on Friday evening, plus access to all sessions and workshops.
NOTE: Accommodation at the venue - Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach - is SOLD OUT for the night of Friday, September 20.
The closest alternate hotel (4.2km away) to the venue is the Novotel Sydney Airport. Telephone: (02) 9518-2000.
Rooms can booked at 10% OFF the best available rate by quoting ADP190919 at time of booking.
For September 19 OR 21, the Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach is offering a discounted accommodation rate of $249.00 per Standard room per night and $279.00 per Bayview room per night is available for conference delegates by quoting DEN200919 when booking.

We have your data, now PAY! What is Ransomware and how to STOP it
Speaker: Mr Robert Laurie
Practising dentistry digitally exponentially increases the data - information about patients, x-rays, CBCT and intraoral scans, facial scans and photographs - that your practice must preserve. Any loss of that data can have dire legal and financial consequences for your practice.
But imagine if one day you walked into your practice and all the computers were locked and all your data was being held to ransom by a hacker in a foreign country, demanding payment in Bitcoin, else your data will be forever gone. It may sound far-fetched, but "Ransomeware" is real and dental practices in Australia are being caught out. In fact, Ransomeware may already be hiding in your practice's InBox, waiting for an unsuspecting staff member to activate it.
In this presentation, data security expert Robert Laurie will review the most dangerous and imminent threat to any dental practice, clinic or lab. He will explain what Ransomware is, how it works and finally how to protect from it. A live demonstration of an attack and the damage it does will be performed. Legal consequences will also be discussed.

DSD workflows in multi-disciplinary treatment: From veneers to All-On-4
Speaker: Dr Fadi Yassmin
Digital Smile Design (DSD) is a powerful tool. Its evolution has enabled us to precisely finesse different treatment modalities. In particular, the use of Natural CAD files has changed the aesthetic frontier in veneers. The ability to replicate nature using precision milling technlogies has given rise to a new aesthetic. The ability to accurately show our patients the potential treatment outcome has not only increased case acceptance, but also the quality of the final restorations. The broad appeal of DSD is not limited to just veneers and aesthetic work, its use in full mouth implant rehabilitation, particularly the All-on-4® technique, has added a new layer of precision in facially driven design. This lecture will show the workflows across all disciplines and the importance of facially driven design for predictable outcomes.

All Digital Full Arch Restorations
Speaker: Mr Lachlan Thompson
A staged process for full arch restorations has traditionally been considered the gold standard. Implant planning, Implant placement, second stage surgery and finally the delivery of the restoration has been commonplace for decades but this process can sometimes take up to 6-12 months to provide the patient with the desired outcomes.
Why can’t we do it predictably in 3 days?
Why can’t we do it predictably in 3 hours?
Digital dentistry is allowing us to do this right now.
With 4+ years and 500+ arches of immediate milled titanium implant bridges behind us, I will discuss the challenges, pitfalls, and advantages of using technology currently available to us as well as what the future looks like with technology development so we can continue to provide our patients with arguably the new gold standard for full arch restorations.

Not all zirconia is created equal
Speaker: Ms Judith Zwenger
Zirconia is now indispensable as a material for highly aesthetic, durable prosthetic restorations. Due to its exceptional fracture toughness, wear resistance and biocompatibility, the high-tech ceramic was used in hip-joint prosthetics. Because of its tooth-like colour, zirconia became increasingly important in dentistry towards the end of the 1990s, where it is often the restoration material of choice thanks to its optical adaptability, stability and range of indications.
However, how zirconia is manufactured and tested is important to the end result. As not all zirconia is the same!
With its broad portfolio of zirconia blanks, Amann Girrbach offers the right material for virtually every permanent indication to enable the fabrication of restorations with long term stability and natural aesthetics both economically and efficiently.
