Prosthetically driven implant placement very often requires the need to build up bone and soft tissues to guarantee the long term success of treatment. Different prosthetic and surgical options are available to treat a deficient ridge, including narrow or short implants, adhesive bridges and or augmentation procedures such as autogenous bone, bone substitutes, meshes and membranes. Each of these techniques require strict patient selection and a number of anatomical prerequisites. Clinical cases of the treatment of the different defects will be shown in the light of the current literature trends followed by a hands-on where participants will practice the presented treatment concepts on pig's mandibles.
