This is a 2-day program which focuses on two themes: clinical innovations and options for prevention and dental care of the frail elderly; and engaging with carers and community organisations to create shared responsibility partnership for older people with cognitive and physical disabilities.
The first day of the workshop will provide a leading edge approach to clinical management of older patients in dental practice with take-home techniques which can be applied in a variety of clinical situations. Day two of the program moves the clinical opportunities into the context of changing community needs for moderate and highly dependent older people to access dental care in a variety of settings. Dental practitioners need to feel comfortable in working with families, carers and aged care organisations in providing appropriate oral health care across of diverse and ageing Australian community
