On behalf of the Australian Society of Periodontology, I would like to extend a warm invitation to all members of the dental fraternity to attend the Biennial Scientific Conference in Brisbane from 10th to 12th March 2016. The venue will be the Brisbane Convention Centre, situated adjacent to the South Bank entertainment precinct in the centre of the city. The meeting will provide a high level of clinical and research based presentations as well as an exciting social program.

The theme of the meeting is ‘Inflammation: The HOT topic’. We have already secured a number of international keynote speakers in Professor Søren Jepsen (University of Bonn and President-Elect of the European Federation of Periodontology), Doctor Mario Roccuzzo (University of Turin) and Dr Jeanie Suvan (Eastman Dental Institute, University College London). The eminent international speakers that have been engaged, along with the yet to be finalized local contingent, are very well placed to cover the latest developments in both the local and systemic aspects of inflammation as they pertain to periodontology.

As the host city, Brisbane offers much in hosting the 2016 ASP Conference. The South Bank entertainment precinct provides an ideal setting in mid-March, and with a wide range of cultural activities and great restaurants, the ‘river city’ will provide many activities for delegates to enjoy.
