Numbers will be limited to 24 candidates to ensure personalised teaching outcomes.

Module 1: Fundamentals of Periodontal Microsurgery

Friday 4 November 2022

This is an introduction to the concept of Periodontal microsurgery and the reasons for the microsurgical approach and wound healing. Microsurgery instruments and incision design will be discussed. This will be reinforced with a hands-on exercise on pigs jaws as well as a live patient surgery.

Module 2: Soft tissue procedures for Crown Lengthening and recession defects

Friday 3 February 2023

This module will cover the indications and limitations of crown lengthening procedures. The theory behind surgical crown lengthening will be reinforced with hands-on exercises and live patient surgery. Treatment of gingival recession remains a technique sensitive procedure. The diagnosis of the different types of recession as well as the limitations of treatment with different grafting materials will be covered and reinforced with a live patient surgery.

Module 3: Surgical techniques for implants in the "aesthetic zone"

As implant placement is becoming more popular so too are the expectations of our patients particularly in the aesthetic zone. Soft tissue complications often affect the treatment outcome.
