In this course participants will be acquainted with the benefits and features of contemporary ceramic options in Prosthodontics with information about what materials, techniques and processes to use and where they apply.

The course will help participants identify the critical elements of aesthetics needed in the assessment of your patients. It will demonstrate how to predictably establish an aesthetic and diagnostic prescription for your patients.

The course will cover the complete process from initial patient consultation, diagnostics and smile design to selection of material with full laboratory procedures to finalisation of the case. Full case presentations of all modalities; veneers, inlays, onlays, 3/4 veneers, full crowns will be covered.

  • How to use digital smile design techniques with computer, digital camera and digital video to document and communicate with both patient and laboratory alike
  • What ceramic technologies are available today, their various pros and cons and what to use where
  • The new paradigm in reconstructive prosthodontics with a more conservative approach utilising bonded ceramic options
  • Identify and know the three factors critical to the use and success of these materials that relate to preparation design and laboratory communication
  • How to take and document a shade prescription for effective laboratory communication
  • The various preparation needs for all-ceramic restorations from veneers, inlays, onlays, three-quarter and full coverage crowns
  • Contemporary impression techniques and simplified occlusal records / face-bow transfers
  • Where to use monolithic vs veneered restorations and the limitations of each technology
  • Material selection and how to effectively bond ceramic restorations and tips for easy clean up and success
  • How occlusion affects material selection and ultimately success of all-ceramic restorations
  • See the application of all these concepts with real case examples
