Horizontal bone regeneration and peri-implant contour augmentation are well-established techniques in successful clinical implant dentistry. In fact, the knowledge of which techniques, procedures, and associated biomaterials are available today, provide the clinician with a reliable basis for appropriate decision-making, rather than using the “salt and pepper technique” to select biomaterials.
This course will provide delegates with contemporary evidence-based principles for horizontal bone augmentation. Surgical anatomy, flap design and mobilisation, in order to achieve full tension-free soft tissue coverage, will be discussed. Methods for autogenous bone harvesting for composite grafts will also be thoroughly reviewed. The strong hard tissue/soft tissue symbiosis will be addressed, presenting various soft tissue augmentation techniques, combined with bone grafting. Complications and failures of bone regeneration will be highlighted.
The hands-on course will include performing horizontal GBR utilising composite particulate graft along with collagen membrane (“Sausage technique” and soft-tissue grafting techniques).
