The outcome of endodontic treatment is generally quite predictable if recommended and biologically-based treatment procedures and protocols are followed. However, clinical endodontic procedures can be technically difficult at times. Typical complications (especially in posterior teeth with extensive restorations) are often related to pulp canal calcification, access, visibility and canal anatomy, rather than to any other factors. However, many of these problems can be overcome by having a thorough understanding of the disease processes that are being managed and the causes of these diseases. This course will provide an update on the various diseases and their courses. Then some "trade secrets" of an experienced Endodontist will be discussed and demonstrated to help you simplify the treatment process. Participants will then be able to practise these techniques by doing the hands-on practical exercises on extracted teeth.

The main objective of this course is to prepare general practitioners for an immediate improvement in their ability to perform predictable endodontic treatment.
