Orthodontic patients with thin tooth supporting structures are highly prone to periodontal tissue breakdown. The decision to perform appropriate soft and/or bone tissue augmentation and modify thin phenotypical characteristics is highly dependent on a succinct understanding of tissue changes under the influence of periodontal disease risk factors and orthodontic forces. Dr Zaveri will discuss biological profile of tooth supporting structures relevant to orthodontic movement and application of periodontal soft tissue augmentation techniques for orthodontic & periodontic stability.
