CAD/CAM-supported fabrication of fixed prostheses is today an established and widespread procedure in many dental practices and dental laboratories. For some years now, the focus has also been increasingly on the CAD/CAM supported fabrication of removable prosthetics. On the dental technology side, the development of appropriate hardware and software, as well as suitable materials, is already well advanced. On the clinical side, however, not all work steps can yet be digitized precisely and economically directly on the patient. Therefore, a system is needed that combines the known basics and conventional processes on the clinical side with the new possibilities and technologies in a reasonable way. In this presentation, such a system will be presented, demonstrating its useful application for the fabrication of high-quality removable prosthetics.
