In any economic times, either bullish or difficult – the best protection for a fee for service practice is a system of patient management – a value chain for dentistry – where patients come in, are treated ethically and appropriately, and then return over a number of years to build up the practice.
The key systems are:
- Patient relationships & Marketing; and
- Examination and diagnosis and treatment planning integrated with appointment scheduling.
This all day presentation will explain the basics of patient flow, clinical examination and treatment planning for a real world – not what is taught at universities and certainly not by sales courses. Have you ever had a treatment plan that was not accepted?
Most treatment plans that are prescribed for patients are never carried out. Dentists need sound clinical concepts on which to base their treatment plans. Currently patients receive treatment plans which are not understandable or affordable. Concepts of affordability, durability and flexibility ought to be introduced into treatment plans for patients. Participants will be shown how to create treatment plans that treat underlying disease (primary), basic restorative treatment (secondary), and the tertiary and quaternary treatment plans that are elective that patients need time and education to accept.
If you can treatment plan properly, you can predict your dental life and your practice. Participants will learn how to improve their treatment plans and then how to present this to patients, and schedule this into their appointment diaries.
