Join Prof Ian Meyers this July as he Unravels the myths behind conservative dentistry in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne!

The terms conservative dentistry and restorative dentistry are often used interchangeably however in many instances this may not be appropriate. Traditional methods of restorative dentistry can be aggressive and highly invasive with removal of healthy tooth structure occurring during the restorative process.

On the other hand, conservative dentistry under the banner of minimally invasive dentistry has often been questioned as not suitable for all patients. Contemporary dental practice offers a range of new restorative materials and techniques to ensure both restorative dentistry and conservative dentistry can be a practical and appropriate patient management solution.

This presentation will look at both restorative and conservative dentistry and unravel some of the common misconceptions and misunderstandings around patient management. Clinical cases will be presented that focus on restorative dentistry within a conservative dentistry framework showing that predictable outcomes and long term success are easily achieved.
