Infection prevention requires co-operation and adherence to strict rules for the whole dental team, but only the clinician is accountable.
Presented by Megan Sharpe, a well-known infection prevention, control and sterilisation consultant, this new workshop will teach you practical infection prevention guidelines for the dental clinic for dentists, hygienists, dental therapists and dental staff.
This includes:
- The essential principles of sterilisation and disinfection. Why is it necessary?
- Understand how to apply Standard (Universal) Precautions.
- Highlighting methods of sterilisation.
- Key principles for special consideration for disinfection and sterilisation issues.
- Be able to relate the NZDA Code of Practice for Infection Prevention and Control, and Dental Council Practice Standard in line with AS/NZ4815:2006 and/or AS/NZS4187:2014 within and around the dental clinic/environment.
