Day 1:   Impressions for IODs and fixed prosthesis

As a Dentist or Clinical Technician, we find very few courses that offer in depth training of the clinical aspects associated with complete implant prosthetics. This workshop is designed to extend your knowledge on impression techniques for implant restorations in the edentulous and partially edentulous patient.

The workshop will combine theory, demonstration and hands-on technical and clinical procedures using virtual models.  Participants will learn how to design and construct open and closed impression trays and achieve optimum results for primary and secondary impressions.

Learning Topics

  • Implant terminology
  • Primary impressions
  • Model analysis
  • Open and closed custom tray designs, using digital and conventional methods
  • Secondary impression techniques
  • Soft tissue master models
  • Fixture and abutment analogs
  • Mastercast requirements
  • Existing Custom made Bar impressions
  • Abutment types
  • Procedures and protocols

Day 2: Design and construct removable and fixed implant prosthesis

There are very few courses available on constructing fixed and removable implant prosthesis. This course will combine conventional and digital aspects of prosthetic construction for simple IOD's to full arched fixed resin based prosthesis. You will gain the underpinning knowledge required for constructing immediate full arch cases and the steps for completing the final prosthesis as well as designs for removables on bars and prefabricated abutments. Occlusion plays a pivotal role in the success of full arch fixed and removable prosthesis. You will gain an understanding of the occlusal concepts using the BPS philosophies which will be demonstrated with a conventional F/F and a F/F fixed implant case.

Learning outcomes

  • Design and construction of IOD's and fixed full arch resin-based prosthesis.
  • Set up concepts using the BPS philosophies.
  • Processing fixed and removable implant cases using the Ivobase Injection System.
  • Implant prosthesis design for full and partial prosthesis.
  • Implant terminology.
