Camile Farah is a registered specialist in Oral Medicine & Oral Pathology, and maintains a specialist private practice in Oral Medicine & Clinical Oral Pathology in Brisbane. He also holds a teaching, research and clinical appointment as Consultant in Oral Medicine & Oral Pathology at the UQ School of Dentistry.

Camile has interests in clinical oral medicine (salivary gland diseases, orofacial pain), diagnostic head and neck pathology (oral cancer and precancer), and oral and maxillofacial radiology (Cone Beam CT). He is a Senior Staff Specialist in Oral Medicine at the Head and Neck Cancer Clinic at the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital, and is also a Consultant Oral Pathologist to Qscan Radiology Clinics. Camile is a regular speaker at national and international conferences where he showcases his research and improvements in clinical practice and new technology.

Camile is Head of the Oral Oncology Research Program at the University of Queensland Centre for Clinical Research, where he undertakes research into head and neck cancer early detection, diagnosis and imaging. His research group consists of 25 staff and students. He has collaborations with clinicians, scientists and industry partners interested in Head & Neck cancer. He has published over 95 clinical and scientific articles including 5 book chapters, and has attracted approximately $5 million in competitive research funding.

Camile is the Inaugural Immediate Past President of the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia, President of the ANZ Division of the International Association for Dental Research, Vice President of the Australasian Immunohistochemistry Society, and Chairman of the Australian Dental Research Foundation Research Advisory Committee. He is a member of the Oral Medicine Board of Studies of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, the Australian and New Zealand Head & Neck Cancer Society, the European Association of Oral Medicine, and the International Association of Oral Pathologists. He serves on grant review panels for NHMRC, Cancer Australia, Cancer UK, Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research, and ADRF. He is an adhoc reviewer for many peer-reviewed international journals.
