Dr Amelita Simpson is the Section Head of the Department of Oral Surgery and Diagnostic Imaging at Sydney Dental Hospital. She obtained her DMD from the Philippines in 1982 and her MPhil in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology from the University of Sydney in 2017. She was appointed as a NSW Health Staff Specialist in DMFR in 2018. Dr Simpson is a Clinical Lecturer with the University of Sydney (since 2008) and an ADC Examiner since 2014.Dr Simpson received an Excellence in Teaching Award for the University of Sydney in 2008. She was elected as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists in 2014, and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Dentistry (Singapore) in 2019.Dr Simpson is a regularly invited lecturer to the Philippines. She has a particular interest in head and neck ultrasonography.
