Dr Thomson is a registered Specialist in Endodontics. He graduated with honours from the University of Queensland in 2000. Working in both government and private general practice
he attained his fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 2006. He then returned to full time study and was awarded his Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry in
Endodontics from the University of Queensland in 2008. Dr Thomson currently spends his time between specialist private practice work in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. He also lectures at both Griffith University and the University of Queensland’s School of Dentistry where he was the Discipline Lead and Senior Lecturer of Endodontics from 2011-2013. He has a keen interest in new endodontic materials and equipment and has published articles on these topics. He also acts as a reviewer for the Australian Endodontic Journal.
Dr Thomson is a member of the Australian Dental Association, Australian Society of Endodontology, Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists, Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, Fellow of the International College of Dentists, Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International and Fellow of Pierre Fauchard Academy.
