Dr Lewis completed her BDS in Edinborough, Oral surgery training in Adelaide and her medical degree in WA. She is consultant in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Fremantle and Royal Perth Hospital and maintains a private practice in South Perth. She spent a number of years working as Chief Resident in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Florida. Dr Lewis is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and Fellow of the International Team of Implantology, and a member of Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Education Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, ANZAOMS and ICOMS. She has been involved in a number of research projects and has published a number of journal articles.
