Completed specialist training in Periodontology at the University of Queensland in 2006. Subsequently he received a scholarship from the International Team of Implantology (ITI) in 2007 to attend the University of Florida (U.S.A) Department of OMFS as a clinical fellow in Dental Implantology.
He maintains a full time private practice in Brisbane city with an interest in implant surgery and tissue augmentation. He has also been actively involved in teaching and training at both an undergraduate and postgraduate level. He is currently a senior lecturer in Periodontology at the University of Queensland and Griffith University School of Dentistry.
Jamil has received his specialist fellowship from the RACDS in Periodontology and fellowships from the ITI and the International Collage of Dentistry. Recently he received an NHMRC scholarship as part of his current PhD research project examining bone grafting in maxillary sinus augmentation.
