Emeritus Professor Kim Seow is a specialist paediatric dentist who continues to lead her clinical research program and post-graduate teaching at the University of Queensland. She was the inaugural director of the University of Queensland Centre for Paediatric Dentistry at the School of Dentistry and coordinator of the DClinDent specialty training programme in Paediatric Dentistry. She has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Dental Research and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and has held visiting professorships at the Children’s Hospital, Boston and the University of Minnesota. Her current research includes the oral colonisation of cariogenic bacteria in children, intervention strategies for early childhood caries and developmental dental abnormalities. She has authored nearly 200 original scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and several textbook chapters.
