Dr Marjan Jones has worked in private practice as a dental surgeon for 18 years and is the owner and principal dentist of at Enhance Dentistry in Park Rd, Milton, Qld. She is a former registrar and lecturer at the University of Qld.
In addition to general dentistry, her practice is focused on prevention of and identification of core causes of various oro-facial and dento-facial issues. As such, the work of Dr Jones and her team starts from patients as young as a few days old, all the way to adults.
In the last 3 years she has provided laser treatment for thousands of infants and toddlers with tongue and lip tie – many of whom, in addition to current or prior breastfeeding / bottle feeding challenges, present with a host of other common issues related to oral dysfunction. Her treatment aims at restoring full tongue function in order to optimise breastfeeding, speech, breathing and/or eating.
She has lectured on this topic to practitioners on the topic of Tongue Ties at various professional settings and conferences. Marjan serves on the Board of Directors of the International Affiliation of Professionals who work with Tongue Tie (IATP) - a body that is currently working towards providing education and support to practitioners who work with oral restrictions.
