Prosthodontist
NEW ZEALAND
Sid is a registered Prosthodontist in New Zealand and Australia. He began his dental career in a country town in northern Queensland where he worked in private practise as a general dentist for a year before relocating to the country's capital, where he spent three and a half years in both public and private practise. Always up for a challenge, he pursued a master’s degree in advanced dentistry from the University of Sydney in 2015, a course that involved both clinical work and a research component, for which he undertook three systematic reviews.
Equipped with the skills to read professional dental literature critically and desire to gain and fine-tune additional clinical expertise, he set his sights on the University of Otago. There he gained a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry as a Prosthodontist (Specialist) on a doctoral scholarship. Along the way he also attained Membership of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (Prosthodontist), further reinforcing his high standards of patient management, diagnosis and treatment for the benefit of the community. Upon graduating Sid worked in Palmerston North (New Zealand) as a specialist Prosthodontist before relocating to Brisbane in January 2021.
Sid enjoys teaching all areas of removable, fixed and implant prosthodontics. He shares his knowledge via presenting continuing education programs at dental meetings, study clubs and online forums in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Sid was a clinical demonstrator and the examiner at the University of Otago, New Zealand and currently teaches the undergraduate students at the University of Queensland while working full time at Brisbane Prosthodontics alongside Dr Michael Mandikos.
