Jeremy McAnulty has been the Director of Health Protection NSW since 2010, overseeing communicable disease and environmental health work.
From 1996 to 2010 Jeremy was Director of NSW Health's Communicable Diseases Branch. He completed a Master of Public Health at the University of Sydney, in 1990 he joined the NSW Health's Public Health training scheme, and from 1991 to 1993 trained with the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Epidemic Intelligence Service.
Jeremy has worked with the Oregon Health Division in HIV epidemiology, and served as Director of the Southern Sydney Public Health Unit. Jeremy has led investigations and developed control strategies for a range of disease threats including SARS, psittacosis, influenza, shigellosis, cryptosporidiosis and hepatitis A in New South Wales. He played leading roles in the planning for, surveillance and investigation of health risks associated with the Sydney Olympics, Cryptosporidium-contaminated drinking water in Sydney, World Youth Day 2008, and the response to pandemic (H1N1) influenza in 2009.
