Megan has 30 years experience working in the area of infection prevention and management in the acute, ambulatory, community, residential, office-based, child care, justice and aviation setting. She completed her Masters in Health Science (Infection Control) in 2002 and has been the Director of Hands-On Infection Control since 1998, providing an infection prevention advisory, education and immunisation service to health care and related industries throughout Australia.
Megan has presented posters and papers at state, national and international conferences, published in Healthcare Infection and Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology, established a respite house for people living with HIV/AIDS, and currently co-coordinates a graduate certificate in infection prevention and control course with the Centre for Nursing Education at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
Megan is a registered nurse with a Certificate in Infection Control obtained from Fremantle Hospital (1988). She obtained her Bachelor of Nursing at Edith Cowan University in 1999, Masters in Health Science (Infection Control) with Honours at Griffith University in 2002, Immunisation Certificate in 2008 and TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment in 2015.
Megan’s professional memberships include the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control (ACIPC), Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology Inc (APIC), Australian College of Nursing (ACN), Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI), the Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) Ltd and the Sterilizing Research and Advisory Council of Australia (WA) Inc. She has held executive positions on both State and National infection control professional associations, and is currently co-lead of her professional College’s WA Special Interest Group.
